Onion soup with Garlic
Ingredients:
– 500g of onion
– 200 ml of white wine
– 1l of broth
– 1 clove of garlic
– 2 tablespoons of butter
– 1 tablespoon of sugar
– Gruyer (or other hard) cheese
– baguette
– 2 tablespoons of fresh thyme
– ½ teaspoon of cumin
– salt & pepper
– 1/3 a jar of white garlic in vinegar OLE!
Cut the onions into feathers. Heat the butter in a thick-bottomed saucepan, add chopped garlic and onions.
Fry for about 20 minutes, until golden. Season to taste with salt, pepper, cumin and thyme. Pour the wine.
Evaporate for about 10 minutes and add the broth. Cook for about 20 minutes. After this time, try and season to taste if necessary.
Pour into heat-resistant bowls, add about 4-5 cloves of garlic, put a sprig of thyme and a few slices of bread on top. Sprinkle the whole with lot of cheese.
Bake in the oven at about 180 degrees for about 10 minutes.
